Overview of international obligations

Come on Red Flames

The RSCA Women will not be playing any matches next weekend. No less than 11 A-team players have left to join their national teams. Our RSCA Women will therefore be training in a very small group at the RSCA Belfius Academy during this international break, but the large number of internationals shows the quality of the Anderlecht squad.

Tine De Caigny, Laura De Neve, Laura Deloose and Sarah Wijnants have joined the Red Flames for the start of the brand new UEFA Women's Nations League. They will first face the Netherlands at home (Friday 22/09 at 8.30pm) before travelling to Scotland (Tuesday 26/09 at 8.45pm). This is a very tough group, as their final opponent is England.

The Red Flames U23s will play two friendlies. After hosting Sweden (21/09 at 16:00), they travel to England (25/09 at 19:45). It's another very solid programme for Esther Buabadi, Lore Jacobs and Fran Meersman. At U19 level, Véronique Zang Bikoula has been selected for two friendlies in Italy (22/09 at 4pm and 25/09 at 4pm).

Ștefania Vătafu and Ludmila Matavkova will also appear in the UEFA Women's Nations League and are in the same group. Romania will play in Croatia (22/09 at 9.15pm) and host Finland (26/09 at 6pm). Slovakia will travel to Finland (22/09 at 17:30) and host Croatia (26/09 at 18:00). The next international break will therefore see them play each other twice.

Sakina Ouzraoui Diki and the Moroccan women's national team - who had a great World Cup, making it out of the group phase before falling to a very strong France team in the last 16 - will face Zambia twice in friendly training matches at home (22/09 at 8pm & 26/09 at 8pm).

Good luck to all our players in selection. The women's first team's next match is at Neerpede on Saturday 30 September at 6.30pm. Currently in fifth place in the league, coach Dave Mattheus's troops will host Club YLA with the stated aim of climbing back into the top tier of the Lotto Super League.
